Hello, I am having a real tough time sorting this one out. I recently acquired this Marlin 39A ser # 25xxxxxx made in 1975. It overall appears to be in nice shape however the lever will not open the bolt more than about 1/2 an inch at the most. ... Guess what, the lower half of the bolt interferes with the hammer strike. This expierment was done on a 1949 336RC, it came without crossbolt, no trigger block, only half cock and two piece pin. I replaced the two piece with a one piece.
